RDC introduced some of the most innovative transaction exchange solutions in Canadian Healthcare. We pioneered Canada's first fully integrated hosted data exchange service in 2001. Today, our hosted (yet fully integrated) supply chain transaction exchange service processes over $2 million monthly with over 2,000 suppliers using CareNET EDI, XML syntax as well as EDI to fax over the Internet and through every major network.
We now provide cutting edge innovation in Web Requisitioning - a service that is fully integrated with hospital ERP and financial systems.
In addition, we have introduced the use of 'punchout' catalogues to Canadian hospitals and other healthcare providers as well as offer fully bi-directional XML transaction over the Internet with healthcare suppliers selected by our clients.
"A company like Rogue Data makes sure that our files go out to each supplier in the form they want to see, and we get what they send back in the form we want to see. They make sure that data maps from each supplier are bang on, so our clerks don't have to deal with a lot of error messages when they're matching up the invoices with the purchase orders."

RDC innovation has been used by the Champlain Region of Ontario (17 major hospitals and buying groups in Eastern Ontario) to analyze current state and develop transaction exchange strategies in warehousing, purchasing and accounts payables.
In addition, we are currently using the RDC architecture and methodology to support the design of interoperable Electronic Health Records in cooperation with EDS on several Federally funded initiatives for Nunavut, Newfoundland and Quebec.
Value for Healthcare Providers: Hospitals spend 15 to 20 per cent of their annual budget on supplies making it the second-largest spending area after salaries. Because automating the supply chain is a source of potential savings, Rogue Data provides hospitals with a new way to use the internet as a way of immediately realizing those savings.
Rogue Data is re-shaping the traditional supply chain in many Ontario hospitals. The paper that used to support supply requisitioning is giving way to a process by which products are purchased and tracked automatically in the materials management system and directly with suppliers for replenishment.
No Risk Transaction Exchange Services for Providers: Rogue Data Corporation is the Canadian Healthcare Provider solution for supply chain collaboration. Healthcare Providers can lead their supplier community with direct electronic interaction with any blend of supplier, portal, group purchasing or value-added service provider - all at the same time! What's more, this can be acheived for a minimal transaction fee, doing away with capital cost of deploying an EDI transaction exchange infrastructure. This same capability extends to patients records - with full data cipher and security.

Putting Hospitals in the E-Business Driver's Seat:
Transact with bi-directional connectivity to various supply chain enablers including CareNET, group-purchasing consortiums and directly with various supplier web sites and ERP systems. This puts the Hospital in control with a new generation of strategic supply chain collaboration options.
The optional RDC Intranet also allows requestors to monitor the status of transactions processed by suppliers for immediate status tracking.
Our Interchange Service and E-Requisition Intranet integrates with any hospital material management or financial process using advanced transaction management to immediately support CareNET EDI, c_XML punch out and many other formats with any supplier the hospital may wish to use. Any mix of suppliers or formats is possible, with any ERP system or portal through a common, transparent interface.
Benefits to Hospitals: Hospitals across Canada already benefit supply chain and e-req exchange services. The Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), Shared Healthcare Supply Service (Mt. Sinai, UHN, Toronto General), Sunnybrook & Women’s Health, St. Joseph’s Health of Toronto, BC Ministry of Management Services (a Provider Community in British Columbia), North Shore Health Region and others enjoy the advantages of RDC enabled Supply Chain process improvement.
- Get pricing from hospital systems or directly from the supplier’s on-line catalogues to compose Purchase Orders;
- Integrated connectivity with CareNET VAN, web portals and even directly with suppliers’ systems
- HIPAA and HL patient records ready; and,
- Convert to and from any transactions standard (EDI, XML, etc.) to any current or future standard.
- Reduce costs with matching and faster invoice payment times - even with non-EDI suppliers!
Hospitals experience process efficiencies, cost reductions for supplies and in the administrative expense for managing the supply chain process. As a secondary benefit, the ability to support relationships with any supplier or supplier consortium of choice (using current hospital systems) creates a transaction strategy that enables more just-in-time SCM processes and competitive pricing that provide additional cost reductions.
How it Works
One Step Subscription Process: RDC provides an integrated (1) E-Requisition Intranet (2) Hosted Transaction Service and (3) Workflow Integration tools to work together for immediate interaction with suppliers selected by the Hospital:
- Proven E-Requisition Intranet and exchange service delivers ‘bi-directional’ transactions;
- Monitors transaction progress in real time based on actual transactions exchanged;
- Provides Hospital controlled electronic catalogue maintenance in cooperation with suppliers;
- Subscription service means there is no hidden cost;
- Hospitals preferred connectivity capabilities are aligned with preferred modes suggested by suppliers;
- Uses current enterprise systems of both the hospital and the suppliers, building on ERP workflow;
- Relationship with VAN's that provides immediate access to over 150 CareNET suppliers;
- 'EDI to fax’ and ‘EDI to .pdf’ enables interaction with the smallest of suppliers.
These services are available on a 'per-transaction basis' eliminating costs associated purchasing and support a dedicated e-commerce infrastructure. Rogue Data gives clients total flexibility to choose or combine electronic transactions with sources of supply. Clients are charged a nominal startup and monthly subscription fee for turnkey transaction exchange management that covers SCM and catalogue functions for Providers.
