Occupational Health and Safety

RDC understands the importance of OHS systems and the important role they play in accident prevention and risk management. We have developed and implemented the Risk Management System for the Government of Nunavut – a system for managing policy renewals and insurance claims. At the same time, we appreciate legislative and regulatory requirements Canadian companies must meet when it comes to corporate liability and responsibility. We design systems for monitoring workplace safety compliance, providing tools for Health and Safety Officers and various mandated committees that help companies demonstrate compliance with Federal, Provincial as well as industry standards.

E-Health and Electronic Health Records

Based on extensive experience with messaging and standards compliance, the RDC team provides insight into the use of electronic message formats for clinical, financial and administrative health information (e.g. HL7 Version 3), terminology types (e.g. SNOMED CT® and LOINC standards) and has contributed to Infoway® and other funded iEHR related implementation projects. We have also worked with DICOM formats for communicating radiology images and data in cooperation with the University of McGill.

RDC has conducted several e-health studies in cooperation with leading medical professionals. We can help your organization gain insight into the tools and processes crucial to the standards-based healthcare systems implementations.

For example, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of departmental service delivery related to over 700 health care and social assistance staff distributed across the Canadian high arctic which eventually lead to extensive federal funding for health programs in the territory. We also assisted the Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) with a strategic review of service delivery requirements, critical to homecare service delivery.
